To subscribe to the CJ list-serve, send an email to: LISTSERV@lists.umn.edu Leave the subject line blank, but in the first line of the email write: SUBSCRIBE CJ-Online (your name) (for example: SUBSCRIBE CJ-Online S. Douglas Olson). CJ Online subscribers may unsubscribe at any time by following the directions at the end of each post.
The CJ Online list-serve focuses on books, including Book Reviews; Lists of Books Received; Textbook Announcements and Reviews; and Special Offers on new and used books. CJ Online overlaps with but does not duplicate the contents of the print version of the journal.
CJ Online Book Reviews are intended to review a wider range of books, and in a more timely fashion, than is possible for the hard-copy portion of the journal. Most reviews published in the hard-copy portion of the journal will also be distributed via CJ Online, but many other reviews will be CJ Online exclusives. The latter will be archived with other reviews, and should be cited in the form (e.g.) “CJ Online 2007.05.04”.
Every month, the CJ Online list-serve will distribute a list of Books Received. Some of these books will already have been designated for review in the hard-copy portion of the journal, while in other cases a decision will have been made not to review the book. Except in unusual circumstances, reviews sollicited through the list-serve will appear only in CJ Online and will not be published in the hard-copy portion of the journal.
